Ok, so everyone seems to be running webinars these days talking about various aspects of the COVID-19 crisis. It really feels like this crisis has brought out the best in many of us. It has brought out our altruistic spirit in times like these to get out there and share information.
So Jimmy and I have been planning this webinar for a while now. Initially we thought it would be just a video interview which I would upload onto Youtube. But after some discussion we decided that we’ll just bite the bullet and run a public webinar. So here we are!
This webinar is meant for individuals of ALL backgrounds. It doesn’t matter if you are a business owner, self-employed or a salaried worker. We are going to share some simple but important tips in keeping afloat financially during this crisis. We will cover topics like:
- Managing personal and business cash flow during the crisis
- Tax management tips – using tax relief and making legal and efficient expense claims
- Adjusting spending habits during the lock down
- Commonly overlooked tax mistakes – gotta stay on top of tax!
- The COVID-19 wage subsidy -obligations and tax implications.
We will also be having a generous Q&A block that will run for 20 minutes for all participants to jump in and ask their questions!
Speakers’ Profiles:
Sam Harith, PhD
Sam is a PhD graduate in Accounting and Finance from the University of Waikato. He has had over 10 years of experience teaching finance and accounting in Universities like the University of Malaya and the University of Waikato. Over the past 2 years, he has been working in the field of accounting, brushing up on his NZ tax and finance skills so that he can better help small businesses in NZ! Also, he runs, writes and owns this blog (in case you haven’t figured that out already).
Jimmy Ling, CA
Jimmy is a Chartered Accountant (‘CA’) with over 6 years of experience within the compliance area. He has worked as an Investigator and an Intelligence Analyst. He currently runs his side business, JL Freedom Consulting outside of his day job, providing a range of compliance and analytics solutions to a range of clients.
